On an unnamed continent, a shut off village known as the "People of the River" are terrorized by vicious beasts during the night, and their oppositional surroundings during the day. Inhabitants of the village can't afford to stray from tradition nor take kindly to foreigners, such as a mysterious boy and proclaimed "Leader of the beasts" who intends to fulfill his wishes at any cost...
