Countdown's story sets place in a steampunk/fantasy world called Vellret. Vellret is similar to our world, but also there are kings and queens, castes and the most important there is no religion. The people of the world believe in gods, but they also believe they aren't with their creatures - with the humans - anymore. The two main characters of the story are Hassel Rondrel and Lalbor 'Zafyr' Kames. They live in Ligeor's town, in the middle of Unceasing Desert. They both came from the lowest caste: the "eadsa" because they both are orphans. Hassel is a petty thief and a very problematic young man, his friend Zafyr is the only reason why isn't he already in a jail. The story sets wing when Hassel stole something, which cause problems... a lot of problems.

The Kingdom of Corcis has given its princess to the Kingdom of Estrea to join the two kingdoms through matrimony; in hopes to end the feud between humans and elves. Only, the elven princess knows there's no way any of her new human subjects could ever fully accept her. What could happen when the young prince and princess find true love... with other people?

Three girls, three guys, one bet and one grand prize. Who is going to win over their crush before the stipulated time runs out? [WARNING] Tendency to become biased towards a certain couple after reading.
