Drift attempts a cursory look at the various ways we navigate social systems and process our experiences--all while running it through the filter of the animal world. Telling this story with animals removes the visual cues of class, affiliation, ethnicity, economic status, nationality, etc. My hope is that this forces the reader to release personal bias and simply meet each character within their own context and hear what they have to say without preconceived notions. But, let's be real--it's also just a good old fashioned animal adventure story. ------ TL;DR: "Drift" is half exploratory mental exercise and half excuse to draw lots of fun African animals while I learn how to make a graphic novel. :) Join me for the ride!
