Sophie is a regular, happy-go-lucky main character who has just moved to Palette Town, Kanto and is quite bored with her new life. But everything changes when the neighbor boy, Gary Oak indirectly challenges her to become a Pokémon Trainer. Follow Sophie's (and other minor characters) adventures around the Kanto region, where new companions come across, friendships are tested, enemies created and a lot of unforgettable memories are formed. Who wants to be the very best? Grow Up is a comic based on my own experiences of playing a Nuzlocke Challenge of Pokémon LeafGreen. For the most part, the comic is similar to how the game plays out, but some things will get adjusted and altered from a story sense! Will contain bad language, swears, blood, dealing with death and other mature themes! This comic is mostly for fun and to develop my art skills! So beware of old art!

Let’s struggle through this! ————————————— Mallory has been 19 for a while and not much has changed. For the past 14 years, she reads about careers and job offers but never seems to find interest in anything. Everyday feels like a repeat. All except her yearly trip to Kanto. There, she meets with her cousins, Samson Oak and Samuel Oak. They prepare the Kanto starters for their trainers. But this year, her relatives decided to let her explore Kanto. What could go wrong?

So, here it is! Pokemon G&B Nuzlocke Challenge. This has been in the works for a few years now, off and on, but I have finally set up a rhythm and flow to creating the comic. So, what to expect? Well, this is a Nuzlocke, but it's a little different too. Essentially, what I did was that I played three runs of FireRed and LeafGreen on an emulator and did a...Trilocke? There are three main characters, each representative of a Nuzlocke run on the emulator, although the comic only closely follows one of them. It is an AU of the first generation storyline, which means, without giving too much away, that the comic will follow the storyline of the games...almost. I know that Nuzlocke's are everywhere these days, and everyone who knows anything about Pokemon knows the first generation storyline to some degree, so I thought it would be fun to alter a few things to (hopefully) keep things surprising and fresh. The comic will mostly be a drama, although there will be many (failed) attempts at comedy. It is essentially my love letter to a 20 year old franchise that has been a way of life for me since I discovered and fell in love with it in 1996. So, if you're up for it, would you care to join me for one more adventure?
